I’m a fantasy writer who is lucky enough to be represented by John Jarrold. I live in the West Midlands with my husband and our puppy, and I am currently studying for a PhD in psychology.
My Writing
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, and wrote my first novel-length story at 15 as a distraction from my GCSE’s. It was about vigilantes and magic, and was named The Dying Ember after a line in an Edgar Allan Poe poem. I’ve moved on a bit since then.
When I was 20, I started work on Otherworld, the book which would eventually land me an agent a year later. Otherworld is the story of what happens after the hero saves the world and marries the princess, and follows their son and daughter as they attempt to come to terms with being children of both worlds. With Otherworld, I found my voice as writer and since then I have written three more books – The Cities, Shadow King and Soulwalker – all of which are either in the process of being edited or are out and about in the big wide world being considered by publishers.
I mainly write novels, but have recently returned to my roots with shorter pieces. This website will be updated with my short stories and random scenes as a way to keep myself writing during my PhD and to introduce my writing to a wider audience. I also will share my writing in response to prompts found on social media website reddit. Any stories from those prompts will have been posted there first (u/radclyffewrites).
